Position overview

We are seeking an experienced and driven Shop Manager to lead daily operations at our Sioux Falls location. This role is responsible for overseeing shop staff, vendor relationships, equipment maintenance, fleet cleanliness, and customer service — ensuring the Sioux Falls shop operates efficiently, safely, and to the high standards expected across all JFI locations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Sioux Falls shop operations including scheduling, time card requests, time-off approvals, and ensuring proper repair procedures are followed by all shop personnel.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs with outside local vendors for trucks, trailers, and in-shop body repairs. Maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure quality outcomes for all outside repair work
• Serve as the primary point of contact for outside customers, ensuring proper repairs and a positive service experience. Maintain and grow outside customer and vendor relationships on behalf of the company.
• Oversee the two wash bays at the Sioux Falls facility, managing trailer and working truck throughout to maintain a clean, professional-looking fleet that meets company standards.
• Facilitate and coordinate repairs for breakdowns occurring on the road during day, night, or weekend hours to minimize downtime and keep drivers moving safely.
• Assist the IT department with ELD and camera system operations. Support drivers with questions related to technology and systems.
• Provide technical guidance and repair practice support to other shop managers across JFI locations, contributing to consistent maintenance standards companywide.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in truck/trailer maintenance, fleet management, or a related shop environment
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Experience working with outside vendors and managing repair workflows
• Availability for after-hours and weekend support for roadside breakdowns
• Excellent communication skills for customer, vendor, and cross-team interactions
• Valid driver's license; ability to operate and transport commercial trucks
