Job Description: Faith Formation & Youth Ministry Coordinator

Status: Full-time, Exempt

Reports to: Pastor

Direct Collaboration: Director of ROOTED Faith Formation and One in Christ Catholic Community Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministries

Position Summary

The Faith Formation & Youth Ministry Coordinator is a visionary leader dedicated to fostering a vibrant, relational, and Christ-centered environment for young people, young adults and families.

Primary Responsibilities

ROOTED Faith Formation (Grades 1–9)

• Program Support: Collaborate with the Director to develop curriculum, monthly lessons, and activities that engage both children and parents.
• Confirmation: Collaborate with the One in Christ Confirmation Directors to implement a Confirmation Program that meets all diocesan guidelines.
• Instruction: Assist in facilitating and teaching large group sessions.
• Active Presence: Provide leadership and support during all scheduled ROOTED programming nights.
• Other duties as assigned.

Youth Ministry (Grades 6–12)

· Assists the Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministries: Develop a comprehensive plan for youth ministry focusing on community, small groups, fellowship (activities), Granite City WyldLife, retreats, and service.

• Mentorship: Recruit, train, and support a team of Peer Ministers (student leaders) and adult volunteers.
• Events & Retreats: Plan, direct, and attend various youth events, retreats, and service-learning opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Young Adult Ministries (Ages 18-39)

· Assists the Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministry in creating a welcoming, engaging environment for young adults through regular gatherings, small group Bible studies, and social events.

· Other duties as assigned.

Parish Operations & Collaboration

• Team Integration: Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with other parish and One in Christ community ministries.
• Financial Stewardship: Operate within the assigned budget and assist in the annual budget-building process for both departments.
• General Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor to support the health of the parish and ACC.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Faith & Integrity: A Catholic in good standing, actively participating in a Roman Catholic faith community. Must maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Education: A Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Youth Ministry (or currently working toward one) is ideal.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of faith formation or youth ministry experience in a Catholic parish setting is preferred.
• Skills:
• Communication: Polished public speaking for large groups and prayer leadership; strong interpersonal and active listening skills.
• Relational Mindset: A welcoming, "lifelong learner" approach to ministry, with a heart for reaching out to families in all stages of faith.
• Compliance: Must uphold the policies of the Church of St. Francis Xavier, the One in Christ Catholic Community, and the Diocese of St. Cloud—including full compliance of Safe Environment requirements.
