Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; routine early mornings evenings & Saturdays required.
Job Summary: The Event Planner conceptualizes event theme itinerary etc. Develops and manages event budgets. Oversees the implementation execution and follow-up for events hosted on- and off-campus. Creates invitations. Selects sites. Creates seating arrangements. Negotiates with florist caterers event space staff print shops etc. Manages on-site contract staff students and etc.
Additional Department Summary: The Event Planner has full responsibility for planning and implementing all events occurring both on and off campus for the benefit of the College. This position is demanding and is vital to the overall image of the college to VIP guests donors alumni potential and enrolled students parents and guest lecturers. This position requires professionalism organization creativity attention to detail ability to work well with others and excellent written and oral communication skills. This person must be able to handle high stress situations and still uphold the high standards of professionalism required by the College of Business. This position will design events that uphold the image of the College and the C&BA Deans office. Work will require weekends nights and early mornings.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree and two (2) years of event planning or coordination experience; OR masters degree.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. drivers license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Must be proficient in the usage of personal computers and standard application software (email word processing spreadsheet programs). Ability to create invitations programs place cards InDesign is preferred. Good organizational communication and public relation skills are necessary.
