What to Expect
Tesla is looking for a dedicated Engineering Process Technician to join the manufacturing operations team in a fast-paced environment. This role involves setting up, operating, and adjusting high-volume production equipment while supporting process development engineers in creating innovative processes, equipment, and tooling. The position plays a critical role in accelerating Tesla’s mission to drive the world’s transition to sustainable abundance through collaboration and technical expertise.
What You'll Do - Perform equipment setup, operation, adjustments, and minor preventative maintenance to meet safety, quality, and efficiency standardsIdentify issues and propose solutions to troubleshoot problems during regular production and engineering builds
- Develop standardized operating procedures for equipment and new processes
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to establish test methods for process enhancements
- Conduct analytical tests, measure, and record data using specified tools and software
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for safety, quality, output, and tool uptime
- Inspect and test finished products during and after production and engineering builds
What You'll Bring - Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or equivalent experience
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, engineering drawings and utilization of data collection, statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE) in a high volume automated production environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills
- Capability to adapt to frequent changes in direction and thrive in a dynamic work environment
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Experience in identifying improvement opportunities and leading small problem-solving projects
