About the Role
As the Building Management System Technician , you will oversee, maintain, and continuously improve the site’s Building Management System (BMS), supporting multiple mechanical and electrical control platforms. Working closely with Facility Engineering teams, you will lead daily system operations, HVAC controls troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and system optimization activities. This position primarily supports Honeywell EBI/TEC Systems , with cross‑training on Siemens Apogee/Desigo platforms.
You will ensure reliable operation of critical building systems, enhance energy efficiency, and maintain high standards of performance, documentation, and system integrity.
What You’ll Do
Lead the operation, maintenance, and optimization of the building’s BMS systems.
Oversee scheduled preventative maintenance on BMS controllers, devices, communication networks, and system hardware.
Review and refine sequences of operation to improve efficiency and optimize mechanical system performance.
Troubleshoot issues related to HVAC controls, BMS system performance, hardware/software functionality, and network communications.
Interpret mechanical, electrical, and BMS/BAS design drawings and specifications.
Update and maintain system documentation, as‑built drawings, backups, and spare parts inventory.
Install, configure, and upgrade hardware, operating systems, specialized software, and BMS applications.
Configure and troubleshoot Ethernet, Fiber, and RS‑485 communication infrastructures.
Work with open industry protocols including Modbus RTU/TCP, BACnet MS/TP, BACnet/IP, BACnet/SC, and OPC.
Troubleshoot and calibrate pneumatic controls, actuators, and pressure‑based devices.
Coordinate BMS‑related work with internal trades, external contractors, and service vendors.
Manage small BMS projects including system upgrades, retrofits, and integration tasks.
Participate in engineering and project meetings, providing technical recommendations for system improvements.
Respond to operational issues and emergency situations involving the Building Management System.
Maintain technical proficiency through on‑site and off‑site training.
What You’ll Need
Education & Experience
Associate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Minimum 7 years of hands‑on experience with Direct Digital Control (DDC) Building Management Systems in office or data center environments.
Experience must include installation, programming, commissioning, maintenance, retrofits, conversions, and project oversight.
Technical Skills
Hands‑on experience with Honeywell EBI/TEC Systems

Or 1 or more of the following:
Siemens Apogee/Desigo/WinCC
Johnson Controls Metasys
Schneider EcoStruxure PSO/PME/DCE
Alerton Ascent
Automated Logic WebCTRL
Strong understanding of building mechanical and electrical systems in critical environments.

Advanced computer and operating system skills, including:
Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025
Windows 10 Pro / Windows 11 Pro
MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
Experience with Building Management System (BMS) Proprietary/Open communication protocols and network architectures
Ability to safely work on ladders and above ceiling spaces.
Additional Competencies
Strong analytical and advanced problem‑solving skills.
Ability to function as both a hands‑on technical expert and a key advisor to engineering leadership.
Excellent documentation, coordination, and communication skills.

The minimum salary for the position $100,000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $120,000 annually . The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
