Bar ManagerLead the Bar at Café Santorini – Pasadena, CA

For more than 33 years, Café Santorini has been one of Pasadena's iconic dining destinations—known for vibrant Mediterranean cuisine, an energetic atmosphere, and a bar program that complements every guest experience.

We're not looking for someone to simply run shifts.

We're looking for someone who wants to lead the bar.

This is an opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional to take ownership of one of Pasadena's busiest restaurant bars while helping elevate our beverage program, team performance, and guest experience.

What You'll Be Responsible ForBeverage Program

• Maintaining exceptional cocktail, wine, and beer standards
• Collaborating on seasonal cocktails and beverage menu development
• Ensuring consistency in recipes, presentation, and execution
• Managing vendor relationships and beverage purchasing
• Managing Inventory 

Bar Operations

• Inventory management and liquor controls
• Cost management and pour-cost optimization
• Labor management and scheduling
• KPI tracking and operational accountability
• Maintaining compliance with all ABC regulations and health standards

Team Leadership

• Hiring, training, coaching, and developing bartenders and bar staff
• Creating a positive, high-performance culture
• Leading by example during high-volume service
• Delivering exceptional hospitality while maintaining operational discipline

 

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience managing a high-volume restaurant bar
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, spirits, and craft beverages
• Experience with inventory systems, beverage costing, and purchasing
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Strong understanding of labor management and scheduling
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and guest-focused under pressure
• Passion for hospitality and continuous improvement

Assistant Bar Managers and experienced Lead Bartenders with strong leadership backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Compensation & BenefitsCompensation

• Competitive salary DOE (Depending on Experience)
• Performance-based bonus structure tied to measurable operational goals

Benefits

• Paid sick leave
• $50/month telephone contribution
• Additional $50/week to maintain inventory and orders
• Long-term compensation growth based on performance reviews and operational performance

As operations stabilize, the goal is to provide two consecutive days off weekly while maintaining leadership coverage.
