Job Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Warrenville, IL
Pay Range: $28/HR-$30/HR

Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged on the search for a Staff Accountant to join our client in the hospitality and food service industry on a contract basis. Located in Warrenville, IL, the Staff Accountant will report directly to the CFO and work alongside a collaborative accounting and operations team. This role is open due to a temporary leave coverage need and is expected to last approximately 12–16 weeks. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running and begin immediately.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

• Process and manage accounts payable invoices through a shared AP inbox (approximately 30–50 invoices daily)
• Assist with month-end close activities and account reconciliations
• Enter financial information and invoices into QuickBooks Desktop
• Review and maintain Excel reports to support accounting operations and reporting needs
• Review and approve POS transactions within the company’s restaurant management system
• Enter payroll journal entries and support payroll-related accounting functions
• Assist with food cost analysis and reporting
• Perform reconciliations and support general accounting activities
• Communicate with internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and accounting questions
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation where applicable
• Other duties as assigned

Staff Accountant Qualifications:

• 2+ years of accounts payable and general accounting experience
• Experience with month-end close responsibilities
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop preferred
• Advanced Excel skills including v-lookups, pivot tables, and formulas
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Process improvement or automation experience is a plus
